Scottish housing market hits highest levels in over a decade

During the first three months of 2019, the Scottish housing market had collective sales of £3.4 billion; the highest figure reported since 2008, according to the latest Aberdein Considine’s Property Monitor report. Property sales were up £80 million; 2.3 per cent above last year’s data, and seven per cent (£225 million) more than what was recorded in 2016.

First annual fall in 3 years for Scottish house prices

The latest House Price Index report revealed the average property price in Scotland was £145,762 in February 2019. This was a 3.1 per cent decrease on the previous month and a fall of 0.2 per cent on February of last year (£145,982); the first annual drop in average property price in Scotland since March 2016.

Outperforming England and Wales, the average house price in Scotland for the year to end January 2019 was £184,324; an increase of 3.2 per cent, or £5,675, according to the latest data by Your Move.
